For the first time in 20 years the World Health Assembly, WHO’s highest policy-making body, considered a Resolution (enclosed) on drinking-water, sanitation and health at its 64th Assembly which opened on Monday 16 May. The Government of France, with a number of co-sponsoring Member States, has formulated the text of the Resolution which aims to provide a solid framework for the development of a new WHO water, sanitation and health strategy. Version en français : Pour la première fois depuis 20 ans, l’Organisation mondiale de la Santé, l'OMS, a adopté une résolution sur l'eau potable, l'assainissement et la santé, lors de la 64e Assemblée qui s'est ouverte le lundi 16 mai. Le gouvernement français, soutenu par un certain nombre d’États membres, avait élaboré le texte de la résolution qui vise à fournir un cadre solide pour l'élaboration d'une nouvelle stratégie de l'OMS en matière d’eau, d'assainissement et de santé.
