Acquedotto Pugliese introduces the "Acqua in Brocca" initiative to promote sustainable practices in hospitality across Puglia, Italy

Acquedotto Pugliese (AQP), the public water operator (Puglia, IT) introduces the "Acqua in Brocca" initiative to promote sustainable practices in hospitality across Puglia, Italy. Launched at the Fiera del Levante in Bari during the Business Tourism Management (BTM) and BuyPuglia events, this project encourages establishments to offer tap water to customers, reducing plastic and glass waste associated with bottled water.

With support from regional leaders like Puglia Region President Michele Emiliano and Regional Councilor for Tourism Gianfranco Lopane, "Acqua in Brocca" aims to establish tap water as the preferred option in three emblematic tourism destinations in the region - Vieste, Polignano a Mare, and Gallipoli. Subsequently, planning to expand this innovation across the entire region. AQP emphasizes both environmental responsibility and public health by ensuring rigorous water quality testing and monitoring.

Alongside this initiative, AQP develops the FontaninApp, a mobile app facilitating access to drinking fountains, promoting hydration and reducing single-use plastic bottle consumption. Through partnerships and community engagement, AQP strives to foster a culture of environmental sustainability and resource conservation, enhancing Puglia's reputation as an eco-conscious destination.
