Eau de Paris signs the Paris Climate Action Charter

Eau de Paris signs the Paris Climate Action Charter

The Paris water operator has signed the Paris Climate Action Charter, during an official ceremony which took place at Paris City Hall on the 16 October in the presence of Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris, and of Celia Blauel, Paris deputy Mayor for environment and President of Eau de Paris. By signing this Charter, Eau de Paris commits to contribute to the achievement of Paris’ Climate-Energy Plan, which aims for  a 25% decrease of greenhouse gases emissions by 2020.

Eau de Paris has already started working for the implementation of the Charter with a geothermal project in Batignolles (a neighborhood of Paris). Thanks to this project, 83% of the local population will be heated through the geothermal source, thus saving 4000 tons of CO2 equivalent per year.
