SAL, the water operator of the province of Lodi (Italy), has been awarded the price for the Best Sustainability Report 2024, in the framework of a national competition promoted by Italy's leading newspaper, Corriere della Sera. The award underscores SAL's commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement.
SAL's Sustainability Report, drafted in collaboration with Laboratorio REF Ricerche, complies with the rigorous Global Reporting Initiative standard (GRI). Notably, SAL's report stood out for its focus on community involvement, with 33,000 citizens (about 15% of the entire population residing in the served area) involved in environmental education projects, a remarkable feat recognized by the jury.
CEO Antonio Redondi emphasized SAL's dedication to preserving natural capital, citing initiatives such as the Easy Water project, which has significantly reduced plastic bottle consumption in schools across the Lodigiano area.
