Viveracqua approves to develop over 400 Water Safety Plans by 2025
Viveracqua (Veneto Region, Italy) water managers will supervise over 2,000 sources of abstraction and 47,000 km of water supply network serving 4.8 million inhabitants.
Viveracqua Consortium, composed by 12 public water operators of the Veneto Region (Italy) has approved a project to develop over 400 Water Safety Plans by 2025.
Through the Water Safety Plans Viveracqua water managers will supervise the water security and quality in more than 2,000 sources of abstraction and 47,000 km of water supply network serving 4.8 million inhabitants. The Water Safety Plans aim to guarantee the safety of the water supply.
The consortium also participates in the Working Group on Water Safety Plans launched by the Italian Ministry of Health and ISS (Istituto Superiore di Sanità).
In addition to this, training on how to manage and maintain the WPS for the water network of the Veneto Region will be organised for the Team Managers.
