Eau du Grand Lyon is the public operator responsible for supplying drinking water to the Métropole de Lyon, serving around 1.4 million inhabitants across nearly 60 municipalities. Following the decision to bring the service back into public hands in 2023, after decades of private management, the utility now oversees an extensive network of more than 4,000 kilometres of pipes and delivers approximately 220,000 cubic metres of high-quality drinking water every day.
