Irish Water Joins APE

Irish WaterAqua Publica Europea is happy to announce that Irish Water has joined our association as a new member. Irish Water was created in 2013 by combining the public water and waste-water services of the 31 Irish local authorities together under one national service provider. It took over responsibility for public water and waste-water services from the 1st January 2014.

In October 2015, Irish Water adopted its Water Services Strategic Plan, which sets out strategic objectives for the delivery of water services over the next 25 years up to 2040. These objectives, which are shared by all Aqua Publica members, include meeting customer expectations; ensuring a safe and reliable water supply; providing effective management of waste water; protecting and enhancing the environment; supporting social and economic growth, and investing in the future.

Aqua Publica Europea (APE) is the European association of Public Water Operators. It brings together 100% publicly owned water and sanitation services, and their national and regional associations. Our mission is to promote public water-management at both European and international level. With the membership of Irish Water, our Association now represents public water operators from 9 European countries, thus pursuing its continued growth since its creation in 2009.

Aqua Publica Europea and its members look forward to working with Irish Water!
