Aqua Publica Europea welcomes as a new member the Italian water operator of the Lecco Province (North of Italy), Lario Reti Holding. The operator manages the integrated water services for all the 87 Municipalities of the Province, serving a population of 330.000 inhabitants.

Lelio Cavallier, President of Lario Reti Holding expressed that:

"Joining Aqua Publica Europea will allow us to interface and collaborate with the main European water managers, leading us to promote cost-effective solutions in the long term and that preserve the natural balance of the environment, with the guarantee that the European legal framework allows us to perform our tasks efficiently and effectively."

Bernard Van Nuffel, Aqua Publica Europea President and of the Brussels' Public Waer Operator, VIVAQUA, welcomed Lario Reti Holding by saying:

"We are very pleased with Lario Reti's decision to join Aqua Publica Europea, thus joining 66 other public water service operators that have been working together for a decade to increase the quality of the services they provide to all citizens. The accession of Lario Reti comes at a very crucial time, as all European legislation on water is being revised and in a framework made more complex every day by the worsening of the climate crisis. New challenges but, we are convinced, also new opportunities for a public service of excellence that looks to the future: we count a lot on the contribution that Lario Reti will give to the strengthening of the European public management model and we are convinced that you will find in our association profitable opportunities of collaboration".

Lario Reti Holding joins the 66 public water operators and sanitation services operators’ members of Aqua Publica Europea.
