Water Erasmus exchange on energy efficiency and energy production
On the 1st of June, HAMBURG WASSER, Scottish Water, Budapest Waterworks and Acquedetto Pugliese started a new bilateral Water Erasmus exchange.
In June 2021, wastewater experts from the members of Aqua Publica Europea HAMBURG WASSER (Germany), Scottish Water (UK), Budapest Waterworks (Hungary) and Acquedetto Pugliese (Italy) participated in an online workshop to exchange and learn best practices on the critical topic of energy in wastewater treatment operations.
Over two complementary sessions, one dedicated to reducing energy demand through improved energy efficiency and the second focused on energy production energy from wastewater treatment processes, participants had the opportunity to share their knowledge and experiences and go in-depth on technical aspects to foster continuous improvement of operations as well as a positive contribution to climate action from the sector.
About WATER ERASMUS
WATER ERASMUS was launched by Aqua Publica Europea, the European Association of Public Water Operators in 2017, as an innovative way to foster mutual learning amongst its network of public water operators through bilateral staff exchanges.
