The UN-Habitat’s initiative Global Water Operators Partnerships Alliance (GWOPA) organised its 4th Global WOP congress from 18 to 29 October 2021. Aqua Publica and its members actively contributed to seven sessions, including on multi-stakeholder WOPs, water-energy-food nexus, successful factors for enabling WOPs, partnership quality, transparency, accountability and participation, and climate resilience.

On 20 May, Aqua Publica Europea and Águas de Gaia, the public water operator of the city of Vila Nova de Gaia (Portugal), co-organised the international conference "A Blue new Deal: water's role in a sustainable and fair future” to discuss how effective protection of water resources can contribute to building a green and fair recovery.

On 10 May 2021, Aqua Publica member Padania Acque organises, in collaboration with Utilitalia and Water Alliance, the online event "Water Economy 2043: innovative funding for the water sector."It will be the opportunity to discuss the funding opportunities for the water sector in Italy.
On 28 April 2021, Aqua Publica Europea organised the third webinar of its series of briefings on the opportunities for the water sector. This session was focused on Interreg Programmes opportunities for the water sector.
Prof Pedro Arrojo-Agudo was appointed as the new UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights on the human rights to safe drinking water and sanitation in November 2020. Aqua Publica had the opportunity to interview him about his mandate priorities and so how public water operators can contribute. The interview is presented in a format of five episodes.

Aqua Publica Europea, the European Association of Public Water Operators, and Águas de Gaia, the public water operator of the city of Vila Nova de Gaia (Portugal) invite you to explore why the sustainable management of water resources represents a pillar of a fair climate transition, and how the EU Green Deal can foster the achievement of this objective. The specific contribution that public water operators can offer in this field will be discussed with local and European and national policymakers, civil society’s organisations and experts.
On 30 March 2021, Aqua Publica Europea organised the second webinar of its series of briefings on the opportunities for the water sector. The second webinar "EU instruments to support investments in water" gathered European public water utilities and the financial public sector.
