- On 17 October 2019, Aqua Publica Europea, the European Association of Public Water Operators, launched its new publication 'The Public Water Services of the Future'. Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the association proposes to outline the role that public water operators across Europe are undertaking, as actors of their communities, fully embedded into their environmental, social, economic and knowledge ecosystems, and striving to contribute to a sustainable future. Based on the long-term strategies and concrete actions of the member operators, the document addresses how they are preparing to address the great challenges of tomorrow and to harness opportunities.
Abbanoa, the water operator of Sardinia, organised a seminar on alternative dispute resolution. This event was the opportunity to learn more on how to settle water-related disputes out of court, helping both customers and utilities save time and money.
In February 2016 the OECD published its report Water Governance in Cities. This report incorporates the results of a survey of 48 cities with different water management models. APE and its members have actively participated to the report by providing input and feedback on its draft content.
The President of APE, Célia Blauel, has signed -on behalf of APE- the the multi-stakeholder joint declaration in support of the draft Principles on Water Governance. The high-level signing ceremony took place during the 7th World Water Forum in Korea. Download the Daegu Declaration
